It has been a very frustrating athletics season weather-wise. After much preparation from all staff and tamariki, especially Ms Costello who took on overall organisation, our school athletics was postponed and then had to be cancelled.
A team selection process was held, however, and a team of Redwood tamariki qualified for the Zone Athletics, held last week.
Ms Costello and Mr Harding took the team to the Rawhiti Domain where the tamariki competed with great attitude and effort. The feedback has been so positive about the tamariki and their results. Well done to all the team (see photo) and to those tamariki who gained places and will go through to the Central Athletics in Ashburton later this term.
