Board of Trustees News

Chris Bealing —

With the last term of 2018 well underway, the Board has been continuing to work with the Ministry of Education and our assigned architects to get the school rebuild / repair to the next stage.

Our final concept plans have now been submitted to the Design Review Panel (DRP) and we eagerly await the outcome. Once we have received sign off from the DRP we can move onto the detailed design part of the work and start shaping the look of the internal spaces. We are hoping to have approval from the DRP and MOE in January.

The whole school is getting ready for our Art Exhibition. Tamariki have begun working on their creations and the staff and PTA are well into planning for this event. It's a great opportunity for our whole community to come together and celebrate the creativity in our school. It's also a fundraiser, with raffles and an art auction, proceeds of which will go towards the new school playground. If you have items to donate, either for the auction or raffles, please contact the office. There are rhumors that members of the Board may be supplying artworks that they have created themselves, these one-off items will likely be in hot demand!

The board would also like to let people know that 2019 is an election year, so if you believe you have something to offer the school keep an eye out for the notice calling for nominations in early May.
