Citizens Advice Bureau - The North Branch has moved premises:

Citizens Advice Bureau North Branch (a community group offering free and confidential advice to all - http://www.cab.org.nz).

Our North branch usually operates out of Fendalton Library but due to the library refurbishment happening, we have moved to new premises - The Village @ Papanui, 460 Papanui Road, Papanui (entrance is off Frank Street).

QEII night work and lane shift postponed

QEII Drive - Due to the rain we were not able to do the foam bitumen stabilising on QEII Drive near Main North Road last night. This means we need to postpone shifting traffic to the new QEII Drive lanes until the morning of Wednesday 13 March. We hope to stabilise the road on Sunday night and chip seal on Tuesday.

This also means the Grimseys Road opening will be delayed to Wednesday morning.

Just a reminder, due to our work on the QEII Drive/Innes Road roundabout we are also closing QEII Drive eastbound on the nights of 10, 11, 12, 13, 20 and 31 March (9pm to 7am). Here is a link to the newsletter on the web https://www.nzta.govt.nz/assets/projects/christchurch-northern-corridor/CNC-QEII-Drive-Hills-Road-Innes-Roundabout-update-20190304.pdf

Cranford Street - Kerb and channelling will continue next week on Cranford Street from McFaddens Road moving south. On Wednesday 13 March for around two weeks there will be no entry into McFaddens Road from Cranford Street on the east side of the road (Cranford Oak Motel side). We also need to do some night work coming up in mid-March – more info attached.

Each year Jennian Homes works alongside the Heart Foundation to hold an amazing Mother’s Day 5km Fun Run/Walk in Hagley Park to bring awareness to heart disease in women – especially mothers. Heart disease is the biggest killer of New Zealand women, claiming the lives of over 3000 women every year. We are asking women to band together to love their hearts.

Last year there were around 1000 participants and supporters doing their best and giving it a go in Hagley Park. This year we hope to increase that number to 1200 people - out in the fresh-air on Mother’s Day giving it their all for the Heart Foundation. We are very excited about bringing this event to the Canterbury area and have been receiving some amazing feedback and a high level of interest from people keen to attend.

The Fun Run is a wonderful family friendly can-do event and we encourage people of all ages and abilities to have a go. Each participant receives a collector’s t-shirt designed by Dick Frizzell and all proceeds go directly to the Heart Foundation.
