A huge congratulations to our Jump Jam teams!

Kate Norman —

On Saturday the 30th of October, the Junior and Senior Jump Jam teams competed against other Canterbury Schools at Cashmere High School. While the competition was very tough, both teams performed exceedingly well.

The Senior Jump Jam (15 students) performed to Geronimo. They received an Excellence Certificate for Presentation and a Merit Certificate for Technical Execution and Creativity. The Senior Jump Jam was coached by Ms Allyce Muir, Mrs Emma Titulaer and Mrs Laura Grant. A huge thank you for all the hours you have put into training the team.

The Junior Jump Jam team (10 students) performed to Uptown Funk. They placed 4th overall. They received a Merit Certificate for Presentation, Creativity, Costuming and Technical Execution. A massive thank you to Mrs Kirsty Fletcher and Mrs Charlotte Spencer for their help and support coaching the Junior team.

Some thoughts from our Jump Jam members:

“When we arrived at Cashmere High it was very stressful! It was go, go, go! I felt really pumped and good when I was performing on stage. I want to say thank you to the coaches for putting a lot of effort into coaching us.”

Lucy S- Senior Jump Jam member

“When I was waiting to go on stage I was quite nervous. After I had finished I felt proud of myself and the team. My favourite part of the day was the awards ceremony.”

Georgia W - Senior Jump Jam member

“When I was backstage I was really nervous and my heart was racing. When I started performing I was really excited. I felt really proud of myself when I finished.”

Paige M - Junior Jump Jam member

“When I was backstage I was excited and nervous at the same time. My favourite part was performing.”
