Dunedin’s George Street – Retail Quarter Upgrade continues to progress well, with above ground work now underway on both the Malls Block and New Edinburgh Way.

Critical underground pipes, some of them nearly 150 years’ old, have been upgraded on both blocks, with paving and other above ground work such as installing new garden beds underway.

Work on the Malls Block, Hanover Street St Andrew Street is expected to be finished by early December. The entire project is expected to be completed by April 2024.
