Principal's Welcome
Rewa Rewa School - June 6, 2024
Tēnā koutou katoa,
Ko Jan Otene toku ignoa,
Ko Tumuaki o te kura o Rewa Rewa.
It's my privilege to be the Principal of Rewa Rewa School.
Here, we believe in creating a warm and inviting environment where every child feels safe, supported, and excited about learning. Our small school with a big heart is dedicated to fostering positive connections among whanau, learners, and teaching staff.
Choosing a school is a significant decision, and at Rewa Rewa School, we offer a safe and inclusive family-centred learning environment. We are the country school in the city, providing a nurturing space where positive connections among whanau, learners, and teaching staff are fostered.
Each day begins with our Community Circle, where we gather to say our whakatauki, sing a waiata, and share messages and achievements. This daily ritual helps us build and maintain a strong sense of hauora (well-being).
‘Empowering our Learners’ to learn is a key goal that we aspire to achieve. Through valuing our diversity and building a sense of identity, our learners know that they have a responsibility to develop lifelong learning skills. Their contribution to our world is to make an ongoing, positive difference.
Each student is taught to understand their unique place in the world and the importance of adding value to this. Developing lifelong skills are enhanced through teaching self-management competencies, thinking skills, innovative play and leadership opportunities. We celebrate taking responsible risks, making mistakes, having fun together and being creative.
Ngā mihi nui,
Jan
