Sarah Gillespie, Dominic Hasselberg and Carmen Holdaway have recently all had successes within St John Youth. The three have been named as a part of the 2020 South Island Representative Squad at the National Youth Festival to be held in Wellington in April. The trio will be tested on their responses to various first aid and communication scenarios.

They each have had their own individual accomplishments too, most notably Sarah being named as the 2019-2020 District Cadet of the Year for North Canterbury, Dominic being part of the Overall Champion Intermediate Team at South Islands, and Carmen being selected as one of 4 New Zealand representatives to compete at the 2020 International Cadet Competitions in South Africa.

In addition to this, Sarah and Carmen have both received their Grand Prior awards. This is one of the highest awards attainable in the youth programme and involves study of many topics, including Clinical 1 First Aid, along with at least 100 hours of community service.
