Congratulations to Toby Buckner (11PL) and Emma McMorran (13SN), who were selected for the National Secondary Schools Brass Band.

Toby auditioned for solo cornet and was selected for that and was also offered soprano cornet based on his audition. This is an excellent achievement as they have not had a school student playing this instrument for several years as it is difficult and usually played by an adult. 

Toby also performed in the NZ Secondary School's Orchestra Festival last term as principal trumpet. 

Both Emma and Toby will be away for a week with the band in Napier in the next school holidays.
