Each year Riccarton High School organises a day to get some extra work done around the school – and for this we need your help. This year, it’s Saturday the 1st April, from 9.00am to 1.00pm.

You can bring the whole family – students from the school, your other children or even the rest of the family – everyone is welcome.

We have a number of maintenance and improvements tasks that we need assistance with – this year we are looking at some projects like:

• Planting out the garden outside our science block – plants were lost when the boiler pipes were replaced – putting in some irrigation, planting and adding bark to this area.
  
• Tidying up the area outside our art classroom – painting the picnic tables and seating, adding some new plants to the raised garden beds.
  
• Putting in some garden edging around a garden outside G/H block to allow bark to be added.
  
• And if you have skills as a plumber, electrician, builder, etc then that would be great as well – but any help is greatly appreciated.
  

So, if you have the time to spare a morning with us please let us know – email rebecca@riccarton.school.nz indicating what work you may be able to help us with or if you are happy to pitch in with anything, and what time you can help (if you can’t do the whole morning then an hour or 2 will still be helpful), or fill out the attached form and return it to the school office.

And if you can’t help on the day but would love to do some baking to feed the team for morning tea then we would appreciate this too – just email Rebecca Nicholson and let her know or fill out the form (attached below).
