Student Art Exhibition

Amie Blackwell —

The first ever Canterbury Student Art Exhibition was organised and held at Windsor Gallery this term.

Congratulations to Hannah Wareing and Nicole Cochrane's whose work was chosen to be the two framed artworks to represent Riccarton High School.

Hannah's work was a manipulated photograph named "Whatungarongaro te tangata toitū te whenua - As man disappears from sight, the land remains.

Nicole's painting was called In spite of One's face and was inspired by Dali and Surrealism.

The students' work was exhibited at the gallery for two weeks along with work from students from other Canterbury schools.

The exhibition opening was on September 6th at Windsor Gallery. Bree Smith and I went to the opening where we all got to see all the work hung up and exhibited.

Both Hannah and Nicole will receive a $50 voucher for their efforts.
