Pink Ribbon Brunch Fundraiser

Alex Schwass —

Volunteering for anything is a selfless act and eight senior students from Levels 2 and 3 Hospitality classes showed that they were able to give up their time and put a smile on their faces to help Mrs Ross and Mrs Schwass host a Pink Ribbon Breakfast on Sunday morning, 28 May 2017.

It was a hugely successful morning which raised $5000 to go towards the Breast Cancer Foundation of New Zealand.

This worthwhile charity tries to raise money each year to give Kiwis access to leading-edge research, with a special focus on treatments to prevent cancer spreading, and to extend the lives of people with advanced breast cancer.

Their aim is to help New Zealanders with breast cancer to have all the support they need during their treatment and recovery – rehabilitation programmes, counselling, access to a supportive patient community.

These wonderful students worked tirelessly and engaged with 85 guests in such a positive and hospitable manner to ensure that everyone was made comfortable and well fed.

A huge thank you goes to Emilee Brown, Lucas Konrath-Eccel, Caityln Africa, Claudia Hills, Courtney Dyson, Hera Chau and Laura Whitehouse. We’re so proud of you and couldn’t have done it without you.
