Sporting Success

Congratulations to all our students for their great sporting achievements:

Te Marino Roberts (11DN):

Qualified for the Canterbury Under 15 Girls A Softball representative team for the second year in a row (she also made the B team 2 years ago), and represented Canterbury in Dunedin from 12-17th of January.

Justine Owen (13BW):

Has just competed in the New Zealand Zonal Swimming Champs in Auckland and did extremely well considering most people that she was racing were in High Performance or were Olympic Swimmers.

Justine's results in the 2017 NZ Zonals (Makos) for the South Island:

7th Place for 200 Butterfly – first time raced in a long course pool.

7th Place for 100 Butterfly – achieving a personal best time and by narrowly missing out on her first Opens Time by 0.07.

2nd Place for Senior 20 x 50m Flying Squadron Relay – Justine was 15th and recorded a personal best time.

Meg Rennie (11PL)

Competed in the NZ Slalom Windsurf Nationals held in Dunedin 2- 6 February, (all the females race together as a group).

Meg placed:

1st Junior (under 18) Female

2nd Youth (under 20) Female

5th Womens

Boys Touch:

Congratulations to the boys Touch team who qualified to play in Super Touch, which in the top grade for secondary school students in Canterbury. They qualified by beating Shirley Boys, Cashmere, St Andrews and Papanui High schools. They achieved this with only nine players instead of the recommended 12, and played to a very high standard. Players who participated were:

Jared Sherwin (12GA), Jakob Bellam-Strange (11WS), Luke Inwood (12CS), Cassidy Taua (11WS), Jaedyn Hanks (12SW), Logan Lemon (10VE), Jack Mundy (12MY), Nathan Dionisio (12SW), Max Paulin (11PT).
