Riccarton's Elisapeta Tu'u wins at Maota o Samoa in Mangere

Aneta Matagi —

Elisapeta proudly represented Christchurch in the National Samoan Language Speech Competition held in Auckland on the 1st August 2019.

Year 12 student Elispapeta did an outstanding job in both writing her six-minute speech, the content of which was about 'Weaving an environment for a better future' and then delivering her speech entirely from memory to a very large audience.  The suspense was palpable as it came down to three students competing for the Year 12 title.  Excitement was rife when the results where were delivered and Elispeta was announced as the winner.  A student from Auckland took out second place and the bronze went to another Christchurch student.  Proudly Elisapeta took home a beautiful trophy and received a scholarship for the University of Otago next year.

Congratulations Elisapeta on your outstanding success.
