The Fortnightly Report

Neil Haywood —

In 2017 we will be introducing a regular Fortnightly Report starting at the end of Week 4 (Friday 24 February). Students at all levels will receive a grade for each subject, which is not based on academic performance, but on a student’s attitude and application to their studies.

The purpose of this report is not only to provide our parents with more regular feedback but also to reinforce the Riccarton Way values with our students with respect to their attitude to learning.

The 4 criteria to be used for the report are:

4

  • Attitude to learning is at an Excellence level. (This is our goal for Riccarton High School students).

The student is always enthusiastic, punctual, organised and committed to their learning.

3

  • Attitude to learning usually meets expectations.

The student is usually punctual, organised and has a positive approach to their learning.

2

  • Attitude to learning needs some improvement.

The student is inconsistent in their approach to learning, organisation and punctuality to class.

1

  • Attitude to learning is well below the standard required.

The student is unprepared for learning due to issues such as organisation, attendance, and/or a negative attitude to learning.

Attendance over the fortnight in each subject will also be reported on. The report will be made available to parents electronically, and will be posted to those who we have identified as having no computer access.
