International Food Day

Lisa Patmore (13BW) and Sasha Komiyama-O’Keefe (13IT) —

On the Friday of Week 3, the International Committee held their first big event of the year which was International Food Day. With a variety of foods on offer from geographically diverse  countries such as the rich Italian panna cotta, to the fiery tteokbokki rice cake of Korea, they were able to achieve success in this event.

At the beginning of the year, International Committee came up with a few goals that we wanted to achieve throughout the year, including “to be a committee not only for our international students but for the whole school by showing the benefits of a culturally diverse life.”

As a committee, we felt confident that International Food Day would promote curiosity and interest in discovering the cultures we are surrounded by on a daily basis.

International Food Day was a very challenging but ultimately enjoyable experience from which we have gained some valuable skills and knowledge.

It was great to see so many students and teachers come along and try the foods that the committee so diligently prepared.

The International Committee would like to express their gratitude towards the members of the school who got involved in this event, as well as those who helped us on the day.
