The Riccarton Way is the spirit, the wairua that underpins the way we think, act and feel about ourselves, others at the school and those in our local and international community.

By emphasising the key values of commitment, honesty, respect and excellence the school ultimately promotes a caring, supportive learning culture focused on progress and achievement.

Spirit of Kōtuhi Award

It is with great pleasure that we acknowledge Kara Visser (KBZ), Fendy Mei (KMI) and Enosh Yong (KSW) who have received this award this term. Their embodiment of the Riccarton Way values of Kairangi, Manaakitanga, Manawanui and Ngākaupono is exemplary.

We thank Kara, Fendy and Enosh for their contribution to our school and the wider community.

Spirit of Uranga Award

Leah Barclay (URG).

Leah consistently demonstrates all of the Riccarton Way values in everything she does. She is a keen learner who gives her best to any challenge, and goes out of her way to support other students and staff. She is also heavily involved in the wider life of the school through extra-curricular activities. Her positive attitude and commitment has made her a very worthy recipient of the Spirit of Uranga award.

William Baird (UIT)

William has strived to be involved in Korfball in every way possible. Due to an ongoing back condition, William has to manage his involvement in the game as a player but is always actively involved as a referee. He referees with ‘Mixx Korfball Academy’ and has done so since year 9, He attends regular training sessions which start at 7.15am, to either referee or train with the RHS teams. He is always expressing Kairangi through being proactive and engaged, always bringing a positive attitude - even when players challenge the referee, he upholds his Manawanui and demonstrates Manaakitanga with the players. The RHS Korfball teams value his contribution and enthusiasm. 

Atatu Celebrations

The Atatū Whare has been in full swing this month, with a new round of awards being given in our Whare Assembly.

We are very proud of Andrei and of his commitment to kindness.

Whaiao Superstar Student Awards

The Superstar Student Awards are something that the Manukura and Tuākana wanted to leave as a legacy as a way to celebrate a SUPERSTAR from each whānau class whose teachers believe have graciously and wholeheartedly showcased the Riccarton Way value theme for that term.
