THANK YOU TO YEAR NINE FAMILIES

Melissa Clarke, Year 9 Dean —

The 2017 school year has begun and our Year Nines have completed their orientation programme, had a full week of timetable and begun summer sports.

The move to high school involves a lot of change and new information. Students can be physically and mentally tired as they learn to navigate the school buildings and grounds, learn the names of new classmates, subjects and teachers, and learn the rules in different rooms and environs.

They are doing great! There are many people who help your sons and daughters at the start of their year: whanau teachers, senior leaders, subject teachers, guidance counsellors, support staff, coaches, and of course, families.

Together we share the responsibility for your young person’s success. He waka eke noa. A strong partnership with you makes a difference to their education.

Thank you for your part. With our students arriving at school rested, fed, prepared and organised with their uniform, stationery and devices, their learning is already enhanced.

I feel privileged to be a part of this school family. I thank you for your support and look forward to meeting you as the year progresses.
