Riccarton High School has a reputation for recognising academic and sporting excellence and cultural and community involvement. We offer an exciting range of scholarships for Year 8 students intending to enrol at Riccarton High School in 2021.

Alongside Peerswick Academic scholarship, we will be awarding the Peerswick Sport and the Peerswick Cultural scholarships.

PEERSWICK ACADEMIC

One scholarship, totalling $1,000.

In 2020, we will be offering one scholarship of $1,000 to an incoming Year 9 student enrolled for 2021, who shows exceptional academic ability. The closing date for applications is Monday 15 June at 4:00pm. Testing will take place on Tuesday 23 June at 8:30am. Meet outside the hall. Candidates only need to bring blue or black pens. Calculators are not required.

PEERSWICK CULTURE

One scholarship, totalling $1,000.

This scholarship will be awarded to an incoming Year 9 student enrolled for 2021, who shows exceptional talent, ability and potential in the performing arts. The scholarship will be offered to a student who will benefit and grow in the cultural and performing arts environment and who will, in return, represent the school with pride and school spirit.

SELECTION CRITERIA

1. A student should have a real interest and proven ability in one or more of the performing arts.
2. There should be evidence of commitment and enthusiasm to develop further through participation in school co-curricular arts groups and events.
3. The student must be prepared to give service to the wider school as well as performing arts at the school and show a commitment to working as part of a team throughout their time at Riccarton High School.

PEERSWICK SPORT

One scholarship, totalling $1,000.

This newly introduced scholarship will be awarded to an incoming Year 9 student enrolled for 2021, who shows exceptional talent, ability and potential across a range of sports. The scholarship will be offered to a student who will benefit and grow in the sporting environment and who will, in return, represent the school with pride and school spirit.

SELECTION CRITERIA

1. The student must show a commitment to excel in some aspect of sport.
2. The student will have displayed outstanding skills and talents in one or more sporting codes.
3. The student must understand the school philosophy, demonstrate true sportsmanship and be prepared to give service to the wider school as well as to the sports programme by coaching, umpiring or administration.
