Kerry McCarthy — Oct 30, 2019

Many of our students are currently involved in work experience in the community. Without the support of these businesses, our students would not get the opportunity to develop their work ethic, problem solving, communication and teamwork skills.

We have seen students’ confidence grow and have watched many become independent workers. Students look forward, each week, to their work experience placements. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank the following businesses for their ongoing support:

Our students are also involved in extracurricular activities that are based around individual interests: Riding for the Disabled, Music Therapy and Move (dance therapy). Thank you to these groups for providing an opportunity for our students to develop their interests and skills.

We are always looking for new work experience placements for our students. If any families in our school community have businesses or know of any businesses who would consider providing work experience opportunities, please contact Kerry McCarthy (HOD). mcy@riccarton.school.nz
