Awesome Orohaki

Anna Eade —

Recent weeks have seen five Year 9 classes take their turn to head off to camp.

Despite chilly mornings and lots of mud and rain, a great time has been had by all.

Students have had a chance to experience archery, bush walks, orienteering, flax weaving and much more, all while forging stronger bonds with their peers and staff.

We have developed a wonderful win/win arrangement with our next-door neighbour. Ricky, our Orohaki neighbour, raises pigs. We take all our food scraps over to his property every couple of days to feed them and in return, we get to cuddle his gorgeous piglets. Ricky is keen for us to help get the piglets more used to being handled so we take some of our responsible students to meet them as a treat.

We look forward to seeing you all back on camp next year!
