With the Senior students now concentrating on their exams, the focus of Gifted and Talented in Term Four is on our Junior students and those from four of our contributing schools.

Much to our excitement, in Week 1 twenty students from Years 9 and 10 were invited to participate in the filming of two “Adam and Eve Show” episodes at Whitebait Studios. During this time they met and interacted with both of the show’s presenters, and were especially privileged to be part of an episode which included TVNZ “Breakfast” Host, Jack Tame. This however, is not the only enriching activity planned for our Year 9 and 10 students this term.

Coming up in Week 8, Junior GATE Week will be returning. Over the course of the week those students who have been selected as displaying G&T characteristics in specific subjects will be invited to attend equally specific days/events. These will include days/events dedicated to Art Appreciation, Maths, PE and Leadership, Performing Arts and Philosophy.

In addition to offering opportunities for our students, in Week 9 we will be hosting students from four of our contributing primary schools, for a week of morning GATE related activities. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to support our wider community by enabling groups of Year 7 students to be enriched in the areas of Art, Dance, Media, PE, Technology Food and Science.

It is going to be a fantastically busy term!
