Sally Brown —

Join the Upper Riccarton Korean Book Talk for a special presentation by Dr Alex Young Il Seo, talking about ‘Who cares about the History of Architecture?’

Why do we study the history of the built environment? Where does it sit in the profession? Is it still relevant in the world seemingly dominated by science and technology? This talk seeks to explore some of the fundamental questions about the history of architecture as a discipline and how it has come to construct different worlds as we see today.

Dr Alex Young Il Seo is a Lecturer in the School of Architecture at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and a Research Fellow in the Centre for Urban Conflicts Research (UCR) at the University Cambridge. Prior to this position, he was a Post-doctoral Fellow in the history, theory and criticism cluster at the Department of Architecture, National University of Singapore (NUS).
