On the 19th May, the Environment Committee along with other Riccarton High students took part in their first volunteer planting day for the year at Travis Wetlands.

We spent the day planting trees to populate a new area of the Travis Wetlands and enjoying a lunch with other volunteers from around Christchurch. It was an awesome day and everyone is super keen to do it again! A massive thanks to Ms Trott, Mr Baars, Ms Cording and Ms Mifflin for assisting with transport and also helping take part in the volunteer work!

The Environment Committee is looking at continuing to take part in more volunteer days and events this year, look out for announcements in the notices or get in touch with the heads of Environment - Abbey Meiritz-Reid or Daniel Wei if you’re keen to get involved.
