Our Redevelopment Is Underway!

Neil Haywood, Principal —

Exciting times ahead for Riccarton High School with the second to last day of term being marked by a whakawātea as we decommissioned our current whare and turned over the first sod of soil prior to work commencing next week.

The event, attended by some of our students, staff, board members, personnel from both the Ministry of Education and Southbase Construction as well as Kaumātua from Ngai Tuāhuriri, signals the beginning of a project which had its planning start back in 2018. We are confident however, that the result of this lengthy planning will equate to teaching and learning areas which are better than first anticipated.

The school will work carefully with both the Ministry of Education and Southbase Construction throughout the NZQA examination period in November with strict protocols in place to ensure that our students are not disadvantaged during this time.
