Handing over the Spirit of Uranga

Sabina Reed, Heather Lindsay —

At the end of this year, Uranga Whare will be farewelling our staff leaders.

Having been two of the eight foundation leaders at the inception of the RHS Whare system, Mrs Reed (Kaitiaki) and Mrs Lindsay (Kairataki) will be stepping down and making room for new appointments to these very important roles.

In welcoming Matua Ramon as Kaitiaki and Mrs Trott as Kaiarataki, we are sure that change will bring with it further opportunities for growth as well as new and varied perspectives on how to continue to develop our Whare culture.

Some favourite memories that both Mrs Reed and Mrs Lindsay share are working with the three sets of Uranga Manukura and Tuakana student leaders and celebrating the amazing contributions of our Uranga students that led to our Whare winning the Ngā Rangi o Pūtaringamotu taonga for the best Whare.

All the best for 2023 and beyond Uranga.
