Jazz Anderson receives Queen's Guide Award

Susan Bennett —

Jazz Anderson has recently completed her Queen's Guide Award through Rangers.

When she joined the Ranger unit shortly after the 2010 earthquakes, Jazz was very quiet and shy and is now very outgoing.

She has especially enjoyed the opportunities to help with younger girls in Pippins, Brownies, and Guides.

Lately she has taken on more of a co-leadership role and has more input into term planning.

Jazz enjoyed a trip that her Ranger unit took to the SPCA, as well as geocaching, the mall scavenger hunt and a photo scavenger hunt around town. She also enjoyed the survivor themed night which the girls arranged for a leader’s birthday and the many camps that the unit has been on, including going to Hanmer Springs and Lake Tekapo, and helping to run fun days and camps for Pippins and Brownies.

Jazz is looking forward to becoming a leader next year and helping girls on their own guiding journey.
