GenConnect at the Library

Sally Blake —

Connecting generations by sharing knowledge.

This week saw the start of a new programme at the School Library.  With being a Joint Use Library, Public and School, we are in the unique position of being able to offer programmes that benefit our students and members of the community.

GenConnect is a new initiative dreamed up by the School Librarian and the Community Learning Librarian, Steffi Marshall.

Members of the public can come along to these lunchtime sessions with their techie questions. One lady who attended this week had had a tablet for 12 months and not been able to use it. At the GenConnect session, with help from a student, she was able to log on and use her tablet.

At this stage the sessions will be fortnightly, but we are hoping to run them weekly in Term One.

If you would like to come along, please do. The sessions are every second Wednesday (the next being 2nd Nov), from 1pm - 1.40pm in the Community Room at the Library.
