Whare Spirit Awards
The Riccarton Way is the spirit, the wairua that underpins the way we think, act and feel about ourselves, others at the school and those in our local and international community.
By emphasising the key values of commitment, honesty, respect and excellence the school ultimately promotes a caring, supportive learning culture focused on progress and achievement.
Spirit of Kōtuhi Award
Congratulations to Malaci Wilson for receiving the Spirit of Kōtuhi Award. Malaci is a valued member of our kura, always going out of his way to help others and shows manawanui, kairangi, ngākaupono and manaakitanga in all of his endeavours. Over the weekend he was a part of the Kapa Haka rōpū representing our kura and the Tūhono competition, where he did an outstanding job.
We thank Malaci for his constant upholding of our Riccarton Way values.
Also, a big thank you to everyone who came along to our Tug of War event out on the field. We hope you had a great time! Keep an eye out for more events organised by the Kōtuhi Council.
ATATŪ WHARE NEWS
The Atatū whare has been in full swing this term. Our theme for Term 3 has been Kairangi/Excellence, and it has been awesome to see and celebrate students who continue to strive to be the very best they can be, across multiple different learning environments.
We also held a daffodil day cupcake sale and raised $165 for the Cancer Society. Cancer is something that has impacted many people in our whare and we are proud to have done our small part to help those people living with cancer.
We also want to announce that we are having an Atatū Whare Whānau Potluck. It has been hard for us to have large groups of people together this year, and we have missed seeing and meeting all our Whānau. Therefore, we would love to invite all of the families in Atatū to a potluck dinner, Thursday 20th October, 6-8pm. Come along, bring a wee plate to share and we will put on some sausages to share. More details to follow.
We hope you have a wonderful October holiday period.
