Kapa Haka Pūtaringmotu

Matua Mike Murray —

Te Kapa o Pūtaringamotu are in their last three weeks of preparation for the Secondary Schools Regional Kapa Haka Competition. This will be held on Saturday 21st October at the Aurora Centre, Burnside High School.

Tutors, Whaea Latoya Leef-Graham, Te Huaki Puanaki and Tyson Tangaroa have been tutoring the group since term 2.

They have prepared the group extremely well with encouragement and their own experience and expectations and the students have risen to the challenge and have totally committed themselves to preparing themselves for the competition.

Hours and hours of practice by the students from years 9-13 have had staff and students commenting on the groups beautiful waiata and awesome haka emanating from the Hall on Wednesdays and their Haka performances during pōwhiri and assemblies.

The school and waānau wishes them all the best for their performance at the regional competition.

Kia kaha tonu!
