It seems a long time since Matariki already, yet it was only in week 9 of last term that the school celebrated this significant mid-winter event.
The prefects, the International, Sports and Cultural Committees and the staff were all involved in a variety of activities to commemorate Matariki rising.
A student hui was held in the previous week for our Māori students and the seniors especially were instrumental in organising many of the activities, from the selfie-with-the-stars to the fast-five netball games.
The whole school turned up on the field on Thursday to form a star, the dimensions of which had been ably determined by Mr Rolfe’s Year 10 Maths class, 10NS.
The celebrations concluded with fried-bread-Friday with many thanks to the Kapahaka Committee, (especially Aroha and Christina).
