Student Achievement Interview Day

These interviews are timed in particular to provide feedforward for senior students working towards their final NCEA assessments and to inform 2018 senior subject choice applications which are due the next day. 

We had a record turnout for our first interview day back in April and are grateful to those who provided us with feedback through the follow-up survey we published in our newsletter. 

We hope you’ll find the following additional information and improvements helpful:

Rooming:

As in April, teachers will be stationed in classrooms around the school so we strongly suggest that parents allow a 10 minute space between interviews for travelling time. To help parents and caregivers plan their interviews:

Our students should be able to advise their whānau about the distances between our classroom blocks. Of course, we strongly encourage our students to attend the interviews with their parents and caregivers - which means they can help locate the rooms.

NCEA information and career pathways sessions:

It’s a big day for our teaching staff and we have to allow them some meal breaks. 

We run a staged dinner break so that around half of our teachers are still available to book interviews with during each dinner shift. 

We’re aware, though, that the period over dinner time could leave some visitors with a gap between interviews. 

Careers Adviser, Ms Kidd, and Deputy Principal, Mr Morrow, will run three sessions in the Hall about NCEA and career pathways. 

These will be about 30 minutes and will be at:

· 11:30

· 5:00

· 6:00

Anyone is welcome to come to these and there will an opportunity to ask them questions.
