The NZ Physics & Mathematics Competition (NZPMC)

NZPMC is a nationally standardised Physics and Mathematics competition open to all secondary students across Aotearoa.

The competition runs in a two-round format with students individually sitting a test based on the NZQA curriculum. The questions are designed to guide and challenge young Kiwi Scientists to extend their interests in Physics and Mathematics. Certificates are awarded in Round 1 and prizes can be won in Round 2.

Competition format:

Round 1 of the competition will be held online on the 27th of May 2023

Successful students will be invited to Round 2 of the competition which will be held in-person at:

· The University of Auckland City Campus (North Island)

· The University of Canterbury (South Island)

Registration is NOW OPEN and can only be done via Mrs Milne.

The cost is $12.00 per student for each round.

I will close registrations on the 15th May 2023.

If you need financial assistance to allow your child to enter, please let me know. We do not want any child to be disadvantaged in the current economic crisis. It will remain confidential.
