Whaiao Whare news

Whaiao’s ‘Acts of Kindness’ challenge is in full swing with WEA currently leading the whānau class nominations.

Congratulations to the students and staff who have been nominated for our ‘Acts of Kindness’ assembly prize draw - last week’s recipients were Mrs Nielsen, Joe Baxter, Jorjie Cattermole, Nicole Dela Vega, Findley O’Hara, and Brook Robinson.

This term we have held our first whānau teacher challenges in whare assemblies to acknowledge and celebrate Gumboot Day and PRIDE week.

Mrs Blissett was the gumboot flip challenge winner and Mr Morrow and Mr Jefferson took out the PRIDE celebrity guessing game – great work team!

Elnathan Chung received our whare taonga ‘The Spirit of Whaiao’ in last week’s assembly for exemplifying the Riccarton Way values of Excellence and Commitment in all that he does.

This includes his attitude to learning, and as a member of the many extra-curricular groups and activities he participates in here at Riccarton High School.

Fantastic work Elnathan, we are proud to have you as a member of our Whaiao whanau!
