Big Arvo 2023

The annual Big Avo was held on Friday 10 February, and it proved to be one of the best yet.

Big Arvo is a welcome-based event, designed to showcase the RHS whare system, while providing a fun and encouraging environment geared towards welcoming students who are new to RHS. Our students enjoy Big Arvo immensely and state that it is a great way to create a bond with our new students.

This year saw a slightly cooler summer day that was filled with excitement and laughs as everyone made their way through the events. 4 events were run by our Whare Manakura; trivia quiz, puzzle solving challenges, water bucket races and the fan favourite - tug of war.

The final tug of war event came down to a battle between the best of the best. 4 whanau classes represented their whare for a chance to win it all! Whaiao came out on top, followed closely by Uranga, Kōtuhi and Atatū respectively.
