Queens Guide Award

Rachel Anderson (12GN) and Georgina Fee (12SN) were awarded the Queens Guide Award, which is the highest award in Girl Guiding and one of the highest Youth awards in New Zealand.

Their awards were presented by Girl Guiding NZ followed by a reception attended by the Governor General of New Zealand The Right Hon Dame Patsy Reddy.

Both Rachel and Georgina have done over 65 hours of community service; organised and run camps and tramps, been a leader of younger units, attended national and international events, completed 12 challenges, learned first aid and much more, as well as committing to years of weekly involvement in the Guides.

"If I were to relate this to the Riccarton way, in order to get this award you need to be committed. I have been part of Girl Guides for over eight years. You need to pursue excellence, be driven to be the best you can be, push yourself out of your comfort zone, be organised and determined," says Georgina.

An ex Riccarton High School student Genevieve Holland, also received her official presentation of the Queen's Guide Award.
