Junior Camps at Orohaki have now finished for the year. A huge thank you to the Orohaki camp staff for their dedication to a whole new programme this season.

We would also like to thank the support of the staff that attended camp and help organise behind the scenes and whanau who encouraged their young person to attend.

Read on for some quotes from staff and students about their camp experience:

"The creativity it fostered in students while they were away from their devices was one of the best things about camp. Students entertained themselves by creating games and managed to have heaps of fun.”
“Great to hang with students I taught last year!”
"It was a bloody beauty."
Orohaki

"It should be longer!"
"Fun overall. I found the tramp a bit hard though.”
Orohaki

“ Great times, good to see students mixing.”
“SEEING the students on camp you can see the moments where they accomplish something they may have not thought they could do, or the laughter shared between peers.”
Orohaki

“There was some amazing leadership shown by Year 9s and seniors. Some incredible students who were selfless, who just got on with a task, who put in their best. It is a really cool site and activities kept brains thinking and bodies in action. The hike was a highlight for many - many didn't think they could do it and despite the very sore feet, many said they were proud of them completing it (me included!)”
“10R and 10C had an amazing time on camp! The two classes connected instantly and were right into all the activities. The weather was fantastic throughout the three days and it was impressive to see all the students stepping outside of their comfort zone by trying new things and developing their interpersonal and leadership skills in the process.”
