Riccarton High School

July 2017 newsletter

Can you help billet students from our sister school?

We welcome our sister school – Takefu Higashi High School – from Japan in week 2 next Term.

Sixteen students will be here from the 2nd of August until the 10th, living in families and enjoying our classes and visits around the town.

We will be taking our own school trip to visit them in Japan in 2018. If your family can help by hosting a Japanese student (their English is very good) during this week, please email Anne Jacques (jq@riccarton.school.nz) or Yu Ito (it@riccarton.school.nz)

We are hosted by the school on our own visit, so it is important that we look after them while they are here!

Lion King Junior 2017

The Lion King Jr.

by Margaret Butler

To the hypnotic beat of djembe drums and breath-taking lighting effects, The Lion King Junior created joy and magic. Six capacity audiences gasped, cheered, wept, laughed and were enchanted. Professional-quality acting, singing and dancing; the brilliant set; stunning costumes, masks and make-up that morphed students into vibrant African birds and amazing animals delivered sensual overload and delight. Unforgettable!
