Library News

A big congratulations to Sylvie Yee, Caitlyn Elder, Marko Balvan and Bella Parkinson, all from 9NS, who were Runners Up in the inaugural Christchurch Yr9 Readers Cup competition. Teams from nine different high schools took part in a quiz night of questions based on six selected books.

A new collection of Tagalog books have arrived in the Library. A wonderful array of children's, teens and adults books, all available for borrowing. Also remember the library is free to use for everyone. Pop in to the library and the friendly staff there can show you where the books are shelved. Click here for a list of Tagalog books the library holds. The library also has books and newspapers in Cebuano.
The Library also has magazines and newspapers, like Banat News  and Philippine Star Ngayon, as well as many others
If you would like help finding these, please see one of the Librarians, they will be happy to help.

A big thank you to all the RHS students who helped with library holiday activities including learn to knit, musical maker space, and a Chinese/Korean craft session.  Thank you to Yui, Elizabeth, Chinyu, Erica, Leo, Elin, Sahiti, Michelle and Shieru.

Homework Club - don't forget this is on every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday for one hour after school in LC1 (the computer room in the Library). Plus there are always at least two senior students there to help you with your homework. Just rock on up, you don't have to book in.

Tūranga, the new central library, opens Friday 12th October. Check out the Library website for all of the exciting events planned for the opening of what will be the most modern public library in the southern hemisphere.
