Tēnā koutou, I am excited to begin 2023 teaching at Rolleston College. Most recently I have taught at Garin College and Motueka High School in Nelson/ Tasman. My family and I enjoyed living there for the last five years, and with our son Charlie (6) and daughter Gracie (2) we have started discovering our favourite bike tracks and coffee/ fluffy spots here in Rolleston. I have experience teaching English, History, Social Studies and Religious Education and began my teaching career at Albany Senior High School and Middleton Grange School. I look forward to meeting you all!
Maria Carter
Talofa Lava and greetings to everyone. I feel very privileged to teach at Horoeka Haemata Rolleston College, having returned to the district recently after living overseas for many years. Growing up in Weedons, Rolleston at that time, had two buildings on SH1. It has grown since then! As a secondary trained English and Music teacher, I have had the opportunity to teach in Christchurch, Auckland, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam. This has enabled me to adapt to different cultures, learn languages and appreciate Aotearoa more.
You may see me cycling to school on my blue bike through Foster Park in the morning or at a class at the Selwyn Sports Centre. I look forward to meeting everyone this year.

I am passionate about health and fitness. I live locally with my wife Scarlett and son Harvey. I also teach Les Mills group fitness classes. In my spare time I enjoy going for a run, playing social touch, coaching, and spending time with my family.
Gabrielle DeGagné
My name is Miss DeGagné. I grew up in Vancouver, Canada, but have been living in Aotearoa with my husband since 2016. I will be teaching Outdoor Education, Ako, and French at Rolleston College; in my free time I love to ski, mountain bike, run, kayak, climb, paint, cook, and sew. I am excited to be a part of the Rolleston team and am looking forward to an amazing year ahead!
