Leanne Croucher —

It has been another busy month with many things happening around the College.

The Selwyn Combined Kapa Haka group competes at the Regional Competition on Saturday 14th August at the Aurora Centre and we would like to congratulate all of the learners who are members of this group. A special acknowledgement to Whaea Harmony for her hard work with co-ordinating between the school and the regional group and to Mr Winsloe for his continued assistance with logistics.

Our learners continue to succeed at a high level in many areas be it academic success, sport and wider activities. I continue to be amazed each week at their achievements.

At Celebrations this week I spoke to learners about Leadership and the value of their actions every day that show leadership. We talked about leadership being an action rather than a position.

At the end of this week we farewelled Dannielle Galway who leaves us to go on Maternity Leave. Danielle started with us here at Rolleston College as a foundation staff member and has made a huge contribution to the college both as a class teacher but also as the Assistant Ako Leader of Hotoke Whanau and with her work in the R2L program. We wish her the very best for the future.

This term we have our Yr 12 and 13 learner interviews and our Yr 9-11 Learning conversations. We will also have the Senior Practice Examination in week 7. An exam timetable will be sent out in due course.

We look forward to connecting you over the term
