Sports Update

Rolleston College —

Declan Frankland, Ruslan Vassilier and Hannah De Bressac took to the slopes to represent Rolleston College in the School Sport Canterbury Skiing and Snowboarding champs. The weather didn't play ball and the start was delayed but they all got a run in the end!

Thanks to Roger Frankland and Matua Cam for their help in getting the learners up the mountain and competing for school!

#mana #wairua is when we #celebrate our #people. Those who live our #values and bring to #life our #Rolleston #Spirit

Shaun Kempton is an aspiring rugby player. In Year 11 he made his debut for Selwyn Schools 1st XV Rugby and has quickly developed into one of the #leaders of the #squad.

Playing for school is important for Shaun as it opens up doors to many opportunities. Playing for school is great because he is playing alongside mates and developing new ones.

"For me my goals in the future are to do everything I can to make higher honours in Rugby and continue playing at a high level"

Rolleston College will launch our own U14.5 and U16 teams to take part in the Ellesmere Rugby Sub Union competitions next year. As we start developing our program it is important we develop great people who play at all levels. We appreciate Shaun's passion and determination to helping us develop this.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Ella Peterson for being awarded the Jamieson Family Scholarship through St Albans Cricket Club and Kookaburra. There was just one up for grabs for a female who was under 16.

Ella currently plays for Selwyn Wahine Cricket club and has for 3 seasons. She will now be moving to the St Albans club to take up this wonderful opportunity.
