Building Whānau Spirit - The Ngahuru wolf-pack

This term we have been working to build the Rolleston Spirit in Ngahuru. We have been engaging in some learning in Ako/Advisory, as well as getting involved in whānau challenges such as the Haka Off. Learners have enjoyed the opportunity to be involved within the whānau and have shown great pride being a part of the wolf-pack. As the term continues, it will be important for our Ngahuru leanrers to remember the following piece of advice that was given at our whānau hui the other day, “right place, right time, right thing”.

Right place: By showing the Ngahuru and Rolleston Spirit, we ensure that members of the wolf-pack are in the right place. This includes

  1. Being in class when required, being outside during breaks and using the bathrooms appropriately.

  1. Right time: As members of the wolf-pack, we always ensure that we are on time and in class when we need to be. When our teachers give us tasks to complete, we have them handed in on time and to the highest standard possible. When we are given a time limit to do something, we ensure that we do it in the time frame given (or do it early).

  1. Right thing: Doing the right thing at all times is very important in the wolf-pack. We always ensure that we are doing what is required of us, and we follow school expectations. We are always working hard to ensure that we are the best role models for other learners in the school, and show our wolf-pack pride by always going above what is expected as the minimum.

Competition Results - Ngahuru on top!

It’s tight at the top of the whānau competition. The wolf-pack has been working hard to take the leadership of the competition from Raumati which we are close to doing. As it stands, Raumati is 2 points ahead of Ngahuru. With our hard work and dedication, we hope to pass them during the rest of this term. Well done to the Ngahuru wolf-pack for achieving the following:

  • Second overall in the CANTA Math competition

  • First and forth in the Careers Quiz

  • Second for the Rolleston Clicks competition last term

Subject selection

Subject selection has now been completed and is closed. If any learners did not complete this, they are being followed up by the team over the coming days. There was some fantastic discussion around courses and learning pathways for our learners over the past few weeks. The wolf-pack has many exciting plans for their futures which we cannot wait to support.
