Hōtoke Whānau Highlights
BIG SING
This term we have been building up to our ‘BIG SING’ whānau competition in Week 10. Our whānau ambassadors began the term researching and planning potential songs for the whānau to sing. After much discussion and whānau vote it was decided that a song ‘mashup’ would be used.
The last few weeks have been singing practices led by Mrs Carter and supported by our Year 9 and 10 led singers.
“ As a whānau captain myself and Callum have the privilege to see the whānau’s improvement as the weeks progress. A big thank you to the whānau ambassadors and student leaders who have been helping to run the weekly practices. As a whānau we are excited and rearing for the performance in week 10! ” - Brooke Henderson, Hotōke Whānau Captain

Hōtoke Success
Congratulations to Donia Mikhaeil who has received her Platinum Badge. This is the highest R2L recognition at Rolleston College and reflects the vast contributions that learners have made to our kura (academic, cultural, sporting, service, EOTC, other).
Congratulations to Lucas O'Connor for receiving a (Build Communities) Spirit nomination. Lucas received a recognition from a member of the public whilst on a Red Shirts (work ex) placement for his positive contribution in the Rolleston community. Well done Lucas. We love hearing positive feedback from members of our community for the amazing mahi our learners are doing and the Rolleston College values that they demonstrate outside of our kura.
A Night at the Oscars: 2023 Senior Formal

The main topics covered in this presentation include the legislative change around the Māori electoral roll, registering to vote, and the value of voting.
