Old Boys vs Thomson Team Basketball
"Old Boys" vs Thomson Team Basketball game. It was a wonderful occasion and was a tough and well contested game. It was awesome to see the "old boys" back (Some a little taller, some a little slower!).
The current Thomson team took out the win by a 2 points in the last seconds and were awarded the trophy!
We look forward to this becoming a yearly tradition!
Thanks to Anna Molloy, Mandy Newcombe and Paula Richards White for all your help setting up and cooking the hot dogs!
1st XI Girls Cricket Team
The 1st XI Girls Cricket team had a great time competing in the Gillette Venus Cup at Hagley Park this week. The team improved every game and there were some great individual and team performances throughout. This is the first time Rolleston College has competed in the tournament.
The highlight of the tournament was the team winning their last game by one run. With one wicket required to win, Jordyn Hawker and Ella Peterson combined with a great piece of bowling and wicket keeping to get the win.
Isobel Jones was top run scorer and Jordyn Hawker was top wicket taker for the team.
Well done to all!
1st XI Boys Cricket Team
A great start to the season for the Cricket 1st XI beating Christ College convincingly on a beautiful Christchurch day! Big thanks to Harrison Rooney and Jack Hocken who at Y9 played in the team for the day. The depth of talent we have here is going to steer us well for the future of Cricket at Rolleston College. These two boys also volunteered their time on Monday to umpire a local Weedons Section one team. Thank you Harrison and Jack for displaying the Rolleston spirit of Building Communities!! Keep up the great work!
The 1st XI look forward to next weeks game against North West !
Good luck team!
