CALEB BYERS DRIVING YOUNG TALENT:
Caleb and his team at Levels race track (Timaru) with an overall 2nd place finish for the weekends event.
Caleb is currently competing in both the South Island formula 1600 championship and also the New Zealand formula 1600 (formula ford) championship.
This is Calebs rookie year in the premier single seater class and he is currently fourth in the South Island championship also leading the highly regarded rookie points in this series. Caleb is also positioned well in the New Zealand championship currently sixth in this championship and second in the rookie standings. Overall he has exceeded rookie year expectations and with only two rounds remaining in the first in Teretonga 17-19th March (Invercargill) and the final in Ruapuna 24-26th March (Christchurch). Caleb will have the home advantage for the final two rounds so everything is still on the table for an overall podium.
Formula ford in New Zealand is our premier series for young talented drivers to learn and develop race craft skills and then move into the worlds most competitive race series like F1, Supercars, Indy cars, GT and many other motorsport classes. Caleb has to do all of this while juggling his schooling.
Rolleston College Students spending time with NZ Sporting stars at Lincoln University for the Inspire Leaders Event.
A massive congratulationsto Emma Marshall 2022 Head Student and 1st XI Girls Hockey Captain for being named a NZ Hockey Finalist for 'Most Outstanding Young Person' for her work as a player, captain, coach and fundraising organiser over her final years at the college. The winners are announced on the 29th of April in CHCH following an upcoming Pro league match. What a great role model for our up and coming players!
Super proud of our senior Ki o Rahi whānau. They lost one game narrowly in the quarters but fought for a 5th placing out of 16 teams. They displayed a competitive spirit but most of all good sportsmanship in every game. Kaitoa whānau!
