On Monday 1st March, Mrs. Swift took her Year 11 Landscape Gardener class to Southern Woods Nursery where their Production Manager Devin Westley took the learners around the 'backstage' area of the plant nursery and showed the learners how commercial plant propagation is carried out, to supplement the work they have been doing in class to gain their practical skills and plant propagation assessment later this term. They got to see how large scale commercial nurseries use technology to fill trays, propagate seeds and take cuttings as well as understand more of Southern Woods eco-sourcing of seeds and cuttings from our local environment and eventually return them back to their original locations.
