DEFENCE FORCE PRESENTATION

The Defence Careers team came and presented to the year 13’s about the 110 different trades available across the 3 forces. They talked about the opportunities that exist within the Defence Forces including being trained while you work and get paid as well as scholarships for degree level training. The chance to travel, play sport, culture and camaraderie of the forces are awesome reasons to join!

UNIVERSITY OF CANTERBURY

Lots of learners went along to the UC Open Day to help gain an understanding of all that is on offer post school. Our Careers Advisor, Jo, also went along the day before to the Career Advisor update day to hear all about what’s new at UC. They have 2 new exciting degrees: the first is a Bachelor of Social and Environmental Sustainability. This is suited to learners that are passionate about wider global issues and the environment, exploring the causes and solutions and includes an internship opportunity. The second is the Bachelor of Digital Screen with Honours which is an exciting new degree using the latest screen technology for game, film and media development.
