NZPMC
On the 14th of July, Alexander Stenhouse, Amy Parkin, Bhavya Malhotra, Phillip Soshnikov, Sanura Lokuliyanage ,Tzofia Klok and myself, Rebeca Hunter attended the final round of the NZPMC at the University of Canterbury. There was a 90 minute multi choice and short answer test that quizzed us on our knowledge of Physics and Mathematics. We were then provided lunch from UC before a range of workshops were run. The workshop for the juniors was called Mathcraft and involved students using pieces of card to make a Menger Sponge (see the photo). The seniors were given the choice between three options: Quantum dot spectronomy, Mechatronics and Chemical Formulation Science. It was a very enjoyable experience, and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in participating next year.
