Choosing ‘selected's’ is an exciting opportunity for your child to explore their interests and expand their knowledge. During the Year 8 Welcome morning your child will take part in a selected showcase activity where they will hear all about what is on offer.

Towards the end of this term we will be sending out another email for your child to make a choice for their selected's in 2024.

Here are a couple of pointers to help guide your discussions with your child without feeling like it is a life-defining decision!

For your child

• Explore their interests - encourage them to think about what sparks their curiosity and makes them want to learn more!
  

• Be open to new experiences - the course she did this year might have very different content to a course under the same subject heading next year.
  

We encourage you to talk to your child and remember that this is an opportunity to learn across a wide range of areas so, it does not define their post-school life. By considering passions, seeking guidance, finding a balance, and being open to new experiences, they can make informed choices that will make the next step of their learning journey enjoyable and fulfilling. Remember, it's all about discovering interests and enjoying the learning process along the way!
