A reminder of the School Smoke Free/Vaping policy

Late last year the Ministry of Education provided the following information for all schools:

The Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products (Vaping) Amendment Act 2020 commenced on 11 November 2020, amending the Smokefree Environments Act 1990 and renaming it to the Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990.

From 11 November 2020, the existing prohibition on smoking at schools is extended to include vaping. You must take all reasonably practicable steps to ensure that no person vapes in any part of your school, whether inside or outside, at any time of day.

It is a timely reminder for us all to discuss with our children/learners the importance of making healthy choices.
